Overview
When partners have to guess how your endpoints behave, every integration turns into weeks of back-and-forth. We either shape a new API with your engineers or reverse-engineer the one you already run, then settle naming, pagination, filters and error formats so they behave the same everywhere. You get a spec that machines can read, a browsable docs site with real examples, and a mock service your partners can hit straight away. A tight, well-described contract also helps AI coding tools produce correct client code for your team.
What you receive
- Up to 40 endpoints captured in one machine-readable specification
- Agreed rules for pagination, filters, sort order and error response shapes
- Hosted reference docs with realistic sample calls and replies for each endpoint
- A mock service generated from the spec so partners can build early
- Authentication guide explaining API keys, tokens and request rate limits
- A written versioning and endpoint retirement policy your team can follow
- A ready-made set of example calls for partners and your support desk
How it runs
-
Step - 01
Discovery
We read your current endpoints, or collect needs if the API is still new.
-
Step - 02
Conventions
Naming, pagination, errors and resource shapes are agreed in sessions with your engineers.
-
Step - 03
Specification
We write the spec, add worked examples and generate the mock service from it.
-
Step - 04
Handover
Docs go live and we walk your team through the contract and versioning rules.
Timeline: 9 working days, counted from the day we receive what we need from you.
Is it a fit?
A good match for
- Teams still tracking their endpoints in a shared spreadsheet
- Products starting to let outside partners or customers integrate
- Frontend and backend developers who argue over request and response shapes
What we need from you
- Access to your code, or an inventory of existing endpoints
- An engineer free for two short design sessions with us
- Any partner obligations or contractual terms the API has to meet
Why it helps
- Partners integrate without long email threads asking what a field means
- Client developers start coding against the mock instead of waiting on you
- Breaking changes ship as planned versions rather than surprise outages
Questions
Yes. Working through an unfamiliar codebase and turning it into a clear, accurate specification is a normal part of this service, and we check our reading against your engineers.
Building or refactoring the implementation is outside this scope. If we spot small mismatches along the way, we can agree to correct them with you, but larger changes would be quoted separately.
Yes. For a query-based API we deliver the matching schema, reference docs and example queries instead of resource endpoints, and the price stays the same.
