Overview
A cron script on a forgotten server can stop working for weeks before a wrong month-end number exposes it. We migrate those jobs into a pipeline orchestrator where you can see every run, failures notify the right owner and re-running a past day is routine. We cover up to eight pipelines, making each task safe to repeat and declaring dependencies so later steps never read incomplete data. Your team ends up with a clear pattern for every future pipeline.
What you receive
- A pipeline orchestrator, hosted by a provider or run on your own containers
- Up to 8 pipelines, migrated from current scripts or built from scratch
- Repeat-safe tasks with sensible retry rules and time limits on each step
- Declared dependencies so downstream steps start only after inputs finish
- Alerts by email or team chat when a run fails or is skipped
- A written backfill process, demonstrated live using your actual data
- Connection details and variables held in a dedicated secrets store
How it runs
-
Step - 01
Inventory
We list every scheduled job you run, including ones nobody remembers creating.
-
Step - 02
Design
For each pipeline we agree timing, dependencies and how it should behave on failure.
-
Step - 03
Migrate
We rebuild each pipeline and operate it next to the old job to compare outputs.
-
Step - 04
Cutover
Once results match, the old scheduled jobs are switched off for good.
Timeline: 18 working days, counted from the day we receive what we need from you.
Is it a fit?
A good match for
- Data jobs running on a server that no one logs into anymore
- Reports that fail quietly and are only caught days afterwards
- Pipelines that create duplicate rows each time someone runs them again
What we need from you
- Your current scripts and access to the servers where they run
- Access credentials for the source and target of every job
- A colleague able to judge whether each job's results are right
Why it helps
- Failures show up within minutes, not weeks later at month close
- Re-running a missed day is a routine task, not an emergency fix
- New pipelines follow a proven template from the first day
Questions
It can be. If a lighter scheduler or a simple timed container fits better, we flag that while cataloguing your jobs and change the scope before any building starts.
Usually yes, with some light rework so they are safe to run more than once. That rework is included as part of the migration work.
Your team does, using the runbook we hand over. If you would prefer ongoing monitoring, that can be arranged separately through our managed support service.
