Overview
Dashboards that try to cover everything end up ignored, so we start with the decisions your leaders really make and design backwards. We install a reporting tool your staff can explore on their own, connect it to your warehouse or a read replica through governed models, and build four dashboards on definitions your owners approve in writing. Row-level rules ensure confidential numbers, like salaries, visible only to the right people. A weekly email summary reaches colleagues who seldom log in.
What you receive
- A reporting tool for self-serve analysis, set up and linked to your data
- Governed models with joins, measures and filters prepared in advance
- Four dashboards: revenue, operations, product adoption and marketing performance
- Access groups, with row-level restrictions wherever confidential data calls for them
- Scheduled summary reports delivered by email and into team chat channels
- Written definitions for every metric, each approved by its owner
- A training session for colleagues who plan to write queries themselves
How it runs
-
Step - 01
Scope
We confirm which decisions each dashboard should help your leadership make.
-
Step - 02
Connect
Data access, governed models and permission groups are set up and tested.
-
Step - 03
Build
Dashboards are drafted, reviewed with each owner and then improved.
-
Step - 04
Train
Your team learns to answer fresh questions on their own without our help.
Timeline: 9 working days, counted from the day we receive what we need from you.
Is it a fit?
A good match for
- Companies that bought a reporting tool but never completed setup
- Leaders emailing the same data questions to analysts every week
- Analyst teams buried under a constant stream of ad hoc requests
What we need from you
- Read-only logins for whichever warehouse or database feeds the reports
- A dashboard owner empowered to approve every metric definition it uses
- One hour of your team's time to attend the training
Why it helps
- Routine questions get answered with no analyst in between
- Confidential numbers are seen only by the teams allowed to view them
- Approved definitions stop disputes about which number is correct
Questions
By default we use an open-source tool that is inexpensive to run and suits most teams. If your organisation is standardised on another suite, we can build the same dashboards there.
We only connect through a read replica. Running heavy reporting queries against your primary database can cause outages, so we will not set it up that way.
For smaller datasets we can report straight from a replica. For larger or multi-source data, our warehouse service should be completed first.
